Students acquire knowledge and critical thinking skills to understand issues surrounding the world, while attaining proficiency in two foreign languages (English + French, Spanish, German, Chinese, Korean or Vietnamese). Our curriculum enables students to acquire accounting & finance-related certification such as 2nd and 3rd grade in the Official Business Skills Test in Bookkeeping, and Financial Planning Technician during the first two years of study. Students will continue to develop their knowledge and skills in our focused curriculum, and will be encouraged to pursue more advanced certification in their junior and senior years. Our experienced faculty with their diverse backgrounds – including careers in financial institutions, tax law, and financial planning – offer a wide range of courses from theoretical foundations to advanced business practices. There are three fields to choose from: Japanese Literature, Japanese Language, and Teaching Japanese as a Foreign Language. Students in Japanese Literature study classical and modern Japanese literary works along with children’s literature. Students focusing on Japanese Language study the structure and the history of the language. Students in the Teaching Japanese as Foreign Language course study how to teach Japanese to nonnative speakers of Japanese.
